MT Supermarket Finds

No trip up north to the MT Asian supermarket is without some random purchase of stuff that I have no need of, yet I get anyways. For instance, I got myself some dried red jujubes.

I bought them because I thought they would taste like dried cranberry, or at worst, dried crabapple. The actual result was far worse.

There was a little bit of sweetness to the jujubes, but they primarily had the texture of those gristly pouches that apple seeds come encased in, the part that you’re really avoiding when you eat around an apple core. I ate a couple and the rest are still sitting on top of my refrigerator.

Okay, so very tiny bananas are nothing new, but they’re so cute.

I mean, just look at them!

Unfortunately they don’t taste particularly more tender or delicious. There’s just comparatively more peeling necessary for every ounce of fruit.

The rice pudding was sitting on a folding table near the door, where impulse purchasers like me are sure to find it. I’ve seen food sitting out unrefrigerated at this place with a telltale fuzz covering it before, so I was a little cautious with this stuff.

The green I’m pretty sure was a part of the original ingredients and not something that congealed later.
